CCPort Mac OS
ClarisCAD Port to AutoCAD® A ClarisCAD/MacDRAW II to AutoCAD DXF Translator.
CCPort is a Macintosh Graphic Tranlator that converts ClarisCAD or MacDRAW II native files into AutoCAD's DXF format.
The DXF files created by CCPort are guaranteed to be compatible with all versions of AutoCAD. The DXF output is also compatible with most other CAD/CAM systems on the market today that can import DXF.
When CCPort converts ClarisCAD files into AutoCAD DXF, it takes care of the difference between the Macintosh/ClarisCAD style of drawing and AutoCAD's style automatically. ClarisCAD relys heavily on the order of objects from "front to back" in its files. AutoCAD uses more of a "line oriented" type of file where the order of objects is arbitrary.
CCPort uses a unique method of clipping where an objects fill attribute and order from from to back determines if objects behind it are clipped out. Lets look at an example of a simple ClarisCAD drawing of 2 trees, one in front of a fence, one behind and they are filled with White, but one is obscuring part of the fence behind it (right) and the other one is being obscured by the fence in front (left) which is also filled with White.
Lets look at the file after is is converted to AutoCAD. During the conversion to DXF, CCPort removes the lines in the fence that are obscured by the white fill of the tree in front (right) and removes the lines in the tree behind the fence (left) producing an AutoCAD DXF file that looks like:
